New Trim is Looking Pretty Cherry

After the installation of new windows the existing sill and extension jambs needed to be protected.

We sanded the face of the wood then the edges to soften and to allow for better penetration of the oil. Using the proper grit sandpaper and a keen eye on on how fast or slow the oil absorbs will give you a perfect finish.

All of the original wood work in this home has been preserved with Tung Oil. We feel this may be a most beautiful finish for wood. It beautifies and seals the wood against stains and water.  

Perhaps the most wonderful thing is the ambering affect of oil-based finishes. The existing casing visible shows how this enhances the color over time.
